I understand and totally sympathize.
The shunt issue really needs to be evaluated further. The sooner surgery is completed...the better. You are fortunate the University of Tennessee is considered one of the best places to have it performed and it's significantly less than in other areas of the country. So much so...people have flown their pets down there to have it performed.
