Which Canidae are you feeding? In Chicken Soup there's a lot he could be allergic to. There's 5 different protein sources (chicken, turkey, whitefish, salmon, duck) and grains. I'd say if you think it's an allergy go to a one protein source food, one that he's never been exposed to. I'd say Venison or Lamb. Or try to steer away from chicken as this is the one thing most dogs are allergic to.

I work as a bather and I've cut, I think, way too many nails LOL. I've never seen something like that, I've never even seen any kind of buildup (unless it was dirt buildup).

I'd say switch to a one protein food and see how it goes, it can take up to 60 days to see improvement.

Good luck and I would suggest using the search option so that you could learn some more about allergies and see what kinds of things trigger it.
Rayray,
Thanks for your help.He will be three in Febuary. The Canidae he is eating is All Stages. I always put a few small pieces of cheddar cheese in his food, maybe I should cut this out and see if it helps? It's good to know that the buildup on the nails is not normal. Maybe it's caused by the constant licking?
