I do agree that most grain free commercial dog foods are simply better foods because of the ingredients in the recipe and the protein content (having more meat). If I were to go back to feeding kibble, I would probably choose a grain free food purely for the nutritional value. |
Grains are not very digestible, so the protein that is in food due to grain isn't digested so the dog isn't really getting that much protein. In grain free most of the protein is from meat. It is also thought that the problems with dogs and high protein is due to plant protein not meat protein.
