My mother died July 11, 2007. I had bought Mika during her illness, but at a time in which she had made a turn for the better. It sort of looked like things were going to work out after all, but they didn't.

I can't tell you what a comfort Mika was through my losing her, the funeral, the after math.

Well one night Mika was sleeping with me. All of a sudden she ran for the head of the bed and PLASTERED herself to the headboard. She was staring fixated at a place at the foot of the bed near the dresser, and trembling like no bodies business.

I reached for her to comfort her and she jumped 20 feet in the air to get away from me and plastered herself against the headboard again, never taking her eyes off that spot. No attempt from me to comfort her worked.

I looked at the spot and asked....Mom is that you? Of course nothing happened, but Mika and I both just sat quietly for a long time, and eventually, Mika returned to normal, and that was when I knew she was gone.

I am positive it was her, and that she was there.
