I'm sorry she and so many went through this. You are correct with you second version. Most millers us that way. They are too cheap to pay for medical help so you know they won't pay for a surgical procedure. Either way is cruel but over course the second way being the worst. I have five rescues. Four have a sad story with Noel's story being the saddest. It will take a lot of time for her. Some take longer then others. Rescues make the best companions because they are just so thankful to have found a good home where they are finally loved. Please, talk to the vet about her cough and your suspicions of her being debarked so he or she can make sure nothing major is going on from how she was debarked. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
