I understand what you are all talking about.

I understand wanting a healthy pup.

I understand that there is a considerable financial responsibility.

I understand all this.

I ALSO understand that there are no guarantees in life. In my eyes, getting a puppy is very similar to adopting - or conceiving - a child. You have chosen to take in and care for another heartbeat, another little soul who needs you. Perfection is not always an option. At least with a puppy you have the option of choosing ... and whatever that puppy grows into doesn't really matter because it will love you unconditionally - even if you find fault with him or her.

And why is it that you even *want* a dog? To be a perfect little arm-charm - or a loving companion? Do your homework as best you can. But ultimately, the decision is really in God's hands: ya pays yo' money and takes yo' chances. Just remember that that puppy will love YOU, regardless.

I will now assume the "duck and cover" position ...
