I have traveled with my babies many times and they did beautifully. I also fly to San Diego, CA. I fly into Houston and then to Ca. Make sure you have a good carrier and that your baby has plenty of room to stand, sit and lay down. My babies are pee pad trained, so I would take them into the Lady's room and put the pee pad on the floor and I would put a leash on my baby and put her down. When the plane landed, I would unzip the top of her carrier and let her poke her head out so she could see everything and that helped her anxiety.
The supplies I packed were, water, small amt. of food., treats, her doggie blanket, pee pads, small plastic bag, wet wipes, benadryl, nutra-cal, and a few of her favorite doggie treats. Also, if you are able, book you an isle seat since it is really so much easier to get in and out of and it makes it so much easier on your baby, since you have to put the carrier under the seat.
Good luck and enjoy your trip.
