Default Yorkie Pup Wanted/Questions -- Pacific Northwest

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum, and this is my first time posting, though I have been perusing the boards for about a week now. My apologies if this is a silly post, but I am having difficulties finding the answers to my specific questions, and this seems like the best place for breeder info/referrals/etc. Thanks for your time.

I finished college last year, and am heading back home in late spring, early summer. I am VERY interested in purchasing a yorkie pup at this time. I am finally at the point where I will be settled enough and ready to make the commitment of dog ownership, and from the research I have done, a yorkie is the best breed for me. But enough introduction. I have two questions I was wondering if the YT community could help me with:

1.) Though I will be home (Idaho) for the summer, I am again relocating at the beginning of the semester to start graduate school for the next (at least) 8 years. I thought it would be best to have the dog in Idaho for a while first though, because I would have AMPLE time to spend with him/her as far as training, bonding, socialization, etc. goes. However, would it be too stressful on the puppy to have to fly to Hawaii after three or four months of being in Idaho? I will have time in Hawaii as well, and my boyfriend--who will be living with me--works nights so there will rarely be a time when the pup will be left alone in the house even then, but it seems preferable to me to have a few months of time that can be completely devoted to acclimating to a new puppy. Thoughts?

2.) It is EXTREMELY important to me that I am able to visit the breeder and see where the puppy grew up firsthand. Though I will consider air travel, I would greatly prefer somewhere in driving distance from northern Idaho. Am I starting too early on this research? Do breeders generally know when they plan to have the next litter of puppies? Can someone recommend anyone in the area firsthand? (Or, if you happen to be a breeder from the Northwest on this forum, by all means PM me!)

I apologize for being so verbose. Thanks in advance for your help. I look forward to getting to know you all on this forum.
