I'm out of my area of expertise here, but some scales may be inaccurate for light weights. You could try weighing yourself with and without the Yorkie, and the difference in weights may be near accurate. This way you can keep the Yorkster still while you weigh him/her.

If you need help with the arithmetic, post the weights and we'll help you out
