I'm not sure that's exactly true.
The one and three year vaccines are the same for at least one company just labeled differently to satify different state requirements but the vet does need the one labeled three years
(I think) to be able to say it will last that long. That is my understanding on it so far. It could be that some vets use the one labeled one year and write that they used the three year....I don't know.
