Hi there! This is just a question that popped into my head and it's gonna bother me now so I thought I'd ask it here and get some answers.
Mahina's (my pup) Mommy is almost a light golden color with a light silver back.
She said before she started breeding her she was that lighter steel blue and tan color. The breeder told me that when she breeds Rozzy (this was her second or third litter) her color lightens dramatically. From the beginning of the pregnancy till a couple of weeks after Rozzy is done feeding.
I even saw the difference because I went to pick Mahina up and then a few weeks later we went back to visit and she was even lighter!! The silver was almost gone!
So I'm just wondering if this is just a hormonal thing or will Mahina possibly continue to get lighter as she gets older. (Rozzy is about 3 or 4 years old). I don't plan on breeding Mahina she'll be spayed in a couple of months.
Although of course I'm not sure what color she's going to be, I guess that's the exciting part of owning a Yorkie!
