I teach that sit means plant your butt on the ground until I tell you other wise and do not break it up.

I did for my first dog break it up and now sit mean sit until you think you can move.

So teach sit and then gradually just lenght the time you go from the planet the butt part to the click and release part and say a word like all done or relaese not ok to move off a sit. You build it up slow so the sit and the release is little by little longer and always go back now ang again to a shorter time so they do not get that after the count of ten they are free to go. Then get a long as 10 minutes at a time but building slowly.
