It is hard, and yet the Morkie hair is so beautiful & part of their personality. I haven't decided just how I want to "style" Meika, and so far I've just been trimming her bangs, and only trimming away some of the tips of puppy fluff with thinning shears. Love seeing Morkies on YT, as I'm always trying to get some hair style ideas.
If you need a quick temporary warm layer for Bowie, I've heard some people make one by cutting down a sweater or sweatshirt sleeve & cutting leg holes. Or for the tiny pups they can use a sock. A little funny, but warm.
