I've never heard that, I've read that up to 10 months of age feed them 3-4 small meals a day, then after 10 months two meals a day. With Yorkies they are so tiny if they don't eat there's a increased risk of hypoglycemia....I would offer food twice a day to your dog.

Regarding chew toys, there's product called Nylabone which I've heard is good. My pup prefers to chew on softer toys like stuffed toys, balls and rope bones.
