Have you introduced anything new to the home? New blanket, clothes, carpet, cleaning products, etc?
Could be allergies/asthma caused by something in the home...
This actually happened to my yorkie...
Does it happen more at night or during certain times?
Could be kennel cough/upper respiratory infection...
Has she done this since you got her?
Hopefully she doesn't have collapsing trachea, but I would think the vet would need to perform some diagnostic tests to determine whether she has it (ie. palpating the trachea to check sensitivity, x-rays, etc.)
