I know this may sound like a silly question but haven't had much experience with multiple dogs of different genders. Riley is going to be two years old at the end of December and we're thinking about adopting/getting a brother or sister for him. He a sweet, sweet boy...extremely good natured (and he's been neutered). He gets along great with other dogs. Just wasn't sure if getting a female would create any problems. There is one thing that he does that makes me a little concerned about maybe getting a female. Even though he's fixed, he has big mint green stuffed doggie that he loves to (for lack a better word) hump. Would he try to do this with a female? I know that when dogs do that to people they're trying to assert themselves as leader of the pack. Not sure, though, how much of the behavior is sexual and if he would try anything with a female? Would appreciate everyone's thought/experiences with something like this.
