Depends on the male, but it is not uncommon for males that are used as stud to become territorial, even aggressive at times, or for them to begin to mark anything that will stand still in your house. Some experience pretty significant behavioral issues. One of my studs would pace and whine and pant and refuse to eat, either when one of the girls (who did not even live in the same house) was in heat or just sporatically for no reason. And the problems may be alleviated after neuter, maybe not. A stud's actions and overall behavioral is something that should be seriously considered when thinking about breeding...it can be a pretty serious set of consequences to take on and I wouldn't consider it "worth it" in a lot of instances. |
