My boy Rocco is 10 months old. When I took him in at the 6 month mark my vet said she wanted him to gain some weight before she neutered him. He was only a little under 2 lbs at 6 months old.. This may have absolutely NOTHING to do with this but it might.. ANYWAY, he does his fare share of humping and we are going to try to get him in in Dec, but with the holidays and how crazy it is we may have to wait till Jan, BUT his humping is not too excessive. Last night I woke up to him almost violently humping my arm! When I looked at "HIM" it was ALL THE WAY out, and I mean a lot!! I was taken a back by it! Oh I'm so sorry I have to ask this! I mean the poor lil' boy could hardly walk! It took quite a while for it to go back "IN" but not all the way back "IN". This morning when I left for work at 7am "IT" was still poking out a little. I told my b/f that if it didn't go down by mid morning to get him to urgent care.. Well it did go all the way back in... Is this normal?? Am I trippin'? I pretty much know how human male anatomy works, but not canines... Any insight or advice would be appreciated.. Or am I just WAY too overly worried about this? I mean I feel completely TRAUMATIZED by seeing what I did last night! LOL
Again, I'm sorry I even had to ask, but my vet isn't in the office today and you guys ALWAYS have so much knowledge about everything with these babies!!
Thanks!! xx |
OMG. I am laughing so hard! Walker is 4 months old and I am dreading this happening before we get him fixed. I've never had a make dog, but male farm animals can be quite...insistent, so i was a bit nervous. I hope you don't have nightmares about it

Unfortunately, I do have experience in this matter. If it does get stuck out, keep it lubricated. KY will do. Usually the little hairs get rolled inside the skin and keep it from closing back over his penis. Gently pull the skin back down the shaft and try to make sure the hairs are all out and then gently slide the skin back up toward the tip. If it is out too long or gets too dry, it can swell up and you won't be able to get the skin back over it.
I swear the next part is true. If it is truly stuck out, pour granulated sugar on it, and wait. It could take 30 minutes. The sugar draws the moisture out so the swelling goes down and the skin can cover the penis again.
Hopefully you will get him fixed and that will take care of it. Good luck. |
May i just ask how you discovered that granulated sugar would help? I mean it does make sense, but i don't know if I ever would have tried it on my own. lol. just curious.
