Default I think I got taken . . .

This isn't about a yorkie, but ya'll are the experts, so here is my question...

My daughter's boxer got into her roommates albuteral (sp), Asthma inhaler medicine, yesterday.
The dog's heart rate was about twice what it should have been - so we called the vet.
Met the vet at her clinic $250.00
Vet had me call animal poison control - poison control charged me $35.00

Vet monitored the dog's heart rate said dog wasn't having a heart attack. $100.00
She gave the dog a shot for her upset stomach. $50.00
Vet tech tried to hold dog - $30.00
Vet tech couldn't hold dog, so daughter and I held dog. ( I'm surprised she didn't charge for this.)
Vet didn't have shot of Beta Blocker to slow heart rate, so she wrote prescription for Beta Blocker that I had to get at Wal Mart. (Dog's heart rate still up while we waited in line at pharmacy.)

Don't get me wrong, I'd do it again. The dog, Annie, is part of our family.

I wonder if I had called animal poison control from home instead of the vet's office what their advice would have been.
Also, the vet knew we had insurance - I think she was milking it.
What do ya'll think?
