Putting the piceces together...
I have done some research on my own and this is what I came up with a Nancy and Sean Silverman that own
Captiva Kennels
I think
Glenda was decived by this person Nancy Silverman - owner of two places a show kennel and a pet shop. The web site states - they (Nancy and Sean) show their dogs. By looking at the the front page they look very nice. When into the site they have more breeds than I would like - but it is not uncommon for
some show people to have several breeds. This is what Glenda probably knew them as - show people with a kennel. No more, no less.
I think when Glenda finally found out the truth later (after shipping the pups) - she was very shocked and surprised. As far as she knew she was a show exhibitor with a kennel and needed pups from another breeder in her area shipped to her.
As far as transporting dogs as a favor - I have brought back a dog from my handler to its owner. I have also had a friend pick up my girl from my handler and bring her to me, since she was dropping hers off to the handler.
As a previous vet tech - when someone comes in for a health certificate in order to have the dog fly - as a technician, I would fill in the information including person that brought the dogs in as owner, not that they were the owner. This is just what we write. Things are happening so fast and we were normally busy - we would just write the name down. So I can see how the vet clinic would have wrote Glenda's name as the owner when she was not. The tech is always responsible for filling out the paperwork at my vets office and then the vet just signs it.
As far as the pet shop name being on the cert. - that can be whited out and changed to say the pet shops name and then rewrote - it is not hard to copy someone's signature. You make a copy of the changed document and then you have a new original with names switched.
I still think that Glenda was lied to and deceived. Glenda is not one to lie - reason why - she just stated the truth and really trusted this Nancy person. A mistake was made and she got trapped into it. I am sure she has learned a very valuable lesson. There are many people out there that believe people for what they say and I am sure she believed this Nancy.
End of story.
Also - people should not get so mad at a person (breeder) when a breeder reduces their amount for a puppy. She may have had the boy awhile and needed to sell him and when a good home came calling she decided to reduce the price. This is not uncommon to happen. The boy may have been growing larger than expected, she may have had to go on a trip and needed to have all puppies find new homes, she may have been sick at the time, whatever ... and when this person called and seemed like she would have given this pup a good - Glenda decided to reduce the price. So do not get mad a Glenda for this and cause more problems - making this more than it is and jumping to conclusions. It is better to search for the whole truth.
Good Advice: One will hear a lot in the show world and you must learn to not trust all you hear and even question the other half you think may be true. There are always two sides to a story as well. If anything had been up wrong with Glenda - it would have been said years ago in the show world and there was nothing.
Reason - I came back on was that I do not like someone pulled through the mud, nailed up and crucified without knowing the full truth about them. It seems like we only have pieces and people were making assumptions - and you know what happens when someone assumes!! Sad to say but true - the Truth is less exciting!
