We live in a suburb of Columbus Ohio (right in the heart of the midwest, folks!) and our house is 5 years old, it's a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 2,200 sf and we paid $203,000 for it. It's in a golf course community, but not on a hole.
We went to California on our honeymoon and were completely amazed at housing prices there! Someone told us they do 100 year mortgages out there which is how people can afford their homes!
