How about vets that sign certificates for shipment of pups to a pet store? Are they ethical or excused because they are just doing their job?
As much as it's preached against on YorkieTalk, I think we do know that pet stores that sell pups are bad. Just to start, the first one with money gets the dog. No screening of potential homes and choosing. It's a well known fact that they get their dogs from USDA commercial, mass producing "puppy mills".

One article of many...
Pet Stores And Puppy Mills by Matthew Margolis on Creators.com - A Syndicate Of Talent

excerp: Statistics reveal that as many as 98 percent of pet-store pups come from puppy mills or "brokers" acting as middlemen. Pet stores, in turn, slap an exorbitant price tag on these dogs. After all, they're pedigreed.
