I just happened across this thread... Thought I'd mention that my mom's puppy was actually prescribed fluoxetine, as a form of doggie prozac. She was 10 weeks old and about eight pounds, a miniature schnauzer. She had a very sensitive stomach and nerves would very tight, and the doc prescribed a combination of fish & potatoes diet, doggie prozac, and pepto. Three years later now, my mom has switched her over to a regular dog food with chicken in it, and she'd discontinued his pepto quite a while ago. But she still takes the little bit of fluoxetine every day - it actually calms her, which includes keeping her stomach calm. Don't worry though - she's still a very very active and rather hyper dog despite the prozac - the prescription was to help her stomach, not to make her a more "manageable" dog. Just in case anyone reading this was worried. :-)

Anyways, just thought I'd share. Seems like at least in a very accidental small dose, fluoxetine certianly isn't toxic to small dogs.
