There are three reasons I can think of. Did you change his food recently? My cats throw up if their diet gets changed. Did he catch, kill and eat something outside? My mom's cat throws up a lot if he catches and eats a mouse or a bird. The last thing I can think of is that maybe he has a really bad hairball. Sometimes a cat will throw up several times before they can get a hairball to pass. I would monitor him and take him to the vet if he gets worse. I hope he feels better!
