Hi everyone update: I had my consult with Dr. Gordon and Susan and they are in agreement that at least for 2 months to keep Izzy on the WD/ID. One month on WD and one month combo WD/ID and then if I want after that go half can half home cooked. She loves it and has turned her nose up on other stuff and they don't want to rock the boat since she is doing well on it. Go figure..feed her holistic since I got her and she got pancreatitus anyway. Now she is so much better on the WD/ID. Now even the nutrionist said that it's not the best but it's something that she has used too for her sick dog and the doctor has one dog on it for 7 years. They say whatever the company puts in it it works for them. After about two months on this stuff and her little pancreas calms down I can go 1/2 this canned stuff and half home made. I can't give any treats with high fat, flaxseed, chicken, etc. So if any of you know any low-fat treats let me know. I do know of Loving Pet products that Kristi told me about (Shelby and Seymour's mommy).

She started to be her old self on Wednesday but now it's a lifelong thing now to worry about.
That's such good news Cyndi. I hadn't checked in awhile and was hoping I would see she was continuing to improve. I'm not wild about Science Diet but that food Izzy is on has saved many lives. Looks like it's working but if there is a problem when I worked for Bil Jac I didn't think much of there kibble but the frozen is wonderful and we sent much off to the University Of Pa. to save the lives of dogs that would not eat and this built up their strength and saved them. It has a good bit of sugar in it so you wouldn't want to keep her on it but if she quit eating it would work. Lots of dogs do beautifully on the frozen forever but a lean dog is a healthy dog and the larger dogs seem to run it off more easily. I do hope the one she is on works because it is wonderful.
