"Thank God I Found This Thread"!! I have been browsing this site for two hours now reading about everyone's problems and it was really getting to me. Even though I told my wife exactly what was posted earlier (this is a forum for people to solve their "problems") I was still second guessing our downpayment made "just yesterday" for a YT puppy. We go back to pick him up on December 20th as an early Christmas present for our 7-year old son.(We have a 4-year old daughter as well) Devon (our son) has wanted a puppy for two years now and after a previously bad experience with our first puppy (a Maltese) my wife and I swore we would never get another dog. He is such a loving kid and really likes dogs, so we finally broke down and said he could get one on his 9th birthday. Now we're surprising him this year on Christmas. Puppies are "irresistable", aren't they! Don't worry, as responsible and loving as our son is, my wife and I fully expect to do a good part of the "raising" of this puppy. Although our son has already read three chapters of the "Yorkshire Terrier Animal Planet" book that we purchased last night for him.

Thanks for all the positive feedback in this thread. We know several people that have had or still have Yorkies, and they adore them, but after reading a majority of the other "problem" threads, I was getting a little nervous just like the person that started this discussion. We'll be in touch again soon I'm sure. I'll keep reading and learning. Trying to figure out how we're going to set up his sleeping and play area with the layout of our house. Decisions, Decisions!
