thank you...and I may take you up on that! I asked my mom for a sewing machine for Christmas...she said maybe...she said how about a piano instead? so I think that I'm getting a piano...but I'll buy a sewing machine if she doesn't get me one!
I reccomend the book Sewing for Dummies. It will help you learn to read patterns.

The best way to deal with the body shape issue is to make the clothes a little big and fit them after.

You may want to start with sewing by hand before getting a machine. Machines can be difficult to use and since dog clothes are so tiny, hand sewing wont take too long. Also, this way you can see if you even enjoy it! Big fabric stores like Jo Anns or G Street Fabrics often have classes that you can take to learn sewing and pattern basics, too!
