I'm in the DC area, and it isn't much better out here. I'm a recent college grad that just turned 24 and the thought of trying to buy a home in the next year is so scares me to death!

I actually live in Maryland, but when a lot of people talk about the DC metropolitan area, it consists of Maryland, DC, and Virginia. I know where I live some older townhouses can be found in the mid 200,000's. But for new ones it would be in the 300,000's. No decent house for less than 300,000. Northern Virginia is even worse, like in Arlington and Alexandria. I think most houses out there are in the 700,000 to 800,000 range!

It's so crazy. When I hear about how much less houses are in other areas, it makes me want to move. But then I wonder what I'd do in terms of a job. I'm not one of those people that always knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. I just kinda fell into my job. I like it, but I have no idea what it would equate to in another area. Oh well!!

By the way, good idea for a thread, it's neat to hear what it's like everywhere else!
