How old is he? If he is still quite young i would not get the bordetella shot- especially not the same day as the rabies- it's too hard on their little systems.
as for the knots- just get a brush and start working at them- or a comb- go slow and they will eventually all come out.
since it is his first day home and he is adjusting it might take a bit for a poop to appear
