Actually I think you are quite normal and doing your homework.

There are too many negatives, and warning signs with the first breeder. I'd definitely pass, and see the Shenanigans' pups.

It's worth taking the time now, and getting the pup you like from a good breeder. It seems like you are establishing a good rapport with Cathy, and it will make choosing a pup more comfortable for you. The pup will be part of your family for years to come.
