Thanks for writing. Something just keeps pulling me to Cathy at Shenanigan's. I think it's just b/c I spoke to her for almost an hour on the phone and she was sooo nice, plus I have heard amazing things about her and her pups. I am concerned I don't know what the parents look like, but I just have a feeling I wont be disappointed. Plus there are a few distinct things sticking in my mind about Susan and I can't seem to shake them.
This may be perfectly normal, but I find it so strange that she gives up her dogs once they are done having pups. The Mom of one of the liters is going to a rescue shelter this week after she is spayed. Now I know I'm not a breeder, but I would absolutely fall in love with any dog I had and wouldn't be able to give him/her away, breeder or not. So the fact that she has no problem with this makes me feel like this is more of a business for her than anything else. Her husband on the other hand came across completely different, he seemed to adore the dogs.
Another thing bugging me is the fact that the Mom of the other litter was shipped to Susan and bites. They think she was maybe raised in a kennel and that's why she is the way she is, but I am concerned as her pups get older they may follow the same habits.
Next, there are a few posts back in May made by Susan about health issues. This makes me concerned that somewhere down the line her dogs weren't healthy. Now I know this may not affect the pups I may purchase now, but it makes me wonder.
Last but not least, again this may be normal for breeders, but I don't like the fact she tapes their ears up if they have a tendency to go down. I personally like a Yorkie with its ears down, even if that's not the way they are "supposed" to be.
Everyone reading this is probably thinking I'm insane, but these are all the things going through my head.
