Summer has arrived with a vengeance today so I'm going to risk the giant hole in the ozone over New Zealand and enjoy the sunshine! I've put on my factor 30+ sunscreen and put in my contacts so I can wear sun glasses. We're off for another walk.
The pictures by the way are
Toi toi flowers
Flax flowers and a cabbage tree
a weed with a pretty flower
Flax flowers (flax is called harekeke by the Maori (NZ indigenous people) pronounced ha-re-ke-ke with the "e" sound like the "e" in egg.) There's no particular emphasis on any syllable. |
