Question Hypoglycemia maybe?

My Yorkie< Little Boy, had a problem with Hypoglycemia when we first got him . He was 1lb and it was a constant struggle. He ended up in a incubator a the Hypoglycemia at one point. He has been doing so much better since he began eating on his own. I came home from work Thursday and he wasn't at the door jumping all over me so that was the first sign that something was fishy. I call him and as I turned around I saw him in the hallway peeking around the corner. I first thought he had gotten ahold of a paper towel and had it in his mouth but as I picked him up i saw that it was foam. I immediately got the Karo syrup and water and began chasing with both. At first he kept throwing up foamy thick liquid but it stoped and he was able to hold down the liquid. He was eating within 15 minutes or so. Has anyone ever heard off this type of an effective from Hypoglycemia before. He has been tested prior for any type of parvo etc..
