My Gracie had bilateral knee surgery for LP. I posted a day-to-day accounting of what we went through. At this young age, I would caution against jumping into surgery. Many puppies will outgrow it. I would wait until the pup is 6 months to one year old, then get x-rays under sedation to find out how severe the problem really is. It does cause them pain every time the patella luxates, even though the dog may not look or act like it is in pain. This is a big surgery, nothing to be taken lightly.
Here is one of my threads about Gracie.http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...-hospital.html It still brings tears to my eyes to read these posts I made!
I'm sorry to hear about your Gracie...I'm going to go read her story now...
Unfortunately I did type in the word patellar luxation in the search first only I spelled it wrong and came up with nothing, so I came here because my mom is so upset about this little guy and I guess I wanted a quick answer.
Thank you for your help.
