my little lexi is a parvo survivor! -- sorry so long

i picked her up from her breeder, all was well... except i wasnt too happy with my breeder (i started to realize some of the crap he had been feeding me). and the next day she had blood in her stood. we took her to the vet, and they just said she had two different parasites in her intestines, gave me meds and sent her some.. i cant remember exactly, but i think maybe two days later, she was acting really depressed and droopy so i took her back - this time with a fresh stool in hand. they tested it and came to the conclusion she had parvo. i just started to ball... they gave her fluids and actually sent her home! (looking for a new vet by the way). they told me not to bring her back for more fluids unless she was lathargic! well... needless to say, i brought her to an emergency vet at like 11pm the night after. i just knew she wouldnt make it til morning. i brought her in and as soon as i said parvo everybody freaked - they all jumped up and moved dogs around in all the kennels, they even asked me to wait outside since there were other dogs in the waiting room . blah blah blah.. anyways.. they ended up keeping her there for something like 3 nights. and they had to shave her hair.... since it was friday going on the weekend the rate was $80 a day + night. i called around 4 times a day and everyday she got better and better. sunday night i finally picked her up... but that wasnt the end of it. for about a month, she was on about 4 different meds, for parvo and her other parasites, every 3 hours. the meds lasted about 3 months ( i guess bc she was a very high risk ). but eventually she got over it and returned to be a very happy and healthy pup.

as for my "breeder".... lets just say he doesnt "breed" any longer
