Ive had 2 dogs get parvo as puppies.. both survived but not with out a huge vet bill and a week or more at the vets. 1 of them a boxer mix had, had 2 set of shots and still got it, she recovered pretty quickly and only had to stay at the vet's for a few days. The other one was a black lab mix that we had gotten from someone, from a "oops" litter, out of 9 puppies 3 of them got parvo. She fell ill within 3 days of having her. She spent almost 2 weeks at the vets. She was so sick and for days it was touch and go. We were told by our vet at that time, that the female dog can pass parvo onto her puppies, even though the mom isnt sick, because once the dog get's it they can be carriers of the virus passing it on to the puppies or other animals that arent vaccinated for it.
Im sorry that your pup died. Its a horrible virus.
