training with belly band and bell How do you do it? I'm going to be ordering belly bands and putting a bell by the back door to ring when they go out.
Now with the bell, if our cats would go over and ring the bell from trying to play with it, would it confuse Chip and Smokey?
Does the belly band prevent them from peeing in it?
See Chip is pee pad trained, but will ONLY go on the one in the bathroom. If he's not near the bathroom, he'll go where ever. If we have him outside though, he does know to go. Smokey on the other hand is more complicated... without going into too much detail... he is our rescue that had bad seperation anxiety and would potty in his crate from the anxiety. He now thinks that where ever he stands is where he should potty and he doesn't understand pee pads at all or the fact that he can pee outside. This is what I'm hoping to do: put the belly bands on them, then take them out every few hours. When we go out, I'll ring the bell and take the bands off of them outside. Now, how do I entice Smokey to actually potty out there?
