My pups were born on Nov 14th and my vet was a little aggravated that I brought them in on Monday. She said "we will have to see since it is going on the 5th day". She did go ahead and do it, but I was a bit worried. She had them that Thursday night, of course I wouldn't take them in at one day old. Then the weekend hit. I showed her how it really equaled 4 days. She counted Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I showed her it was Thursday to Friday (1) Friday to Saturday (2) Saturday to Sunday (3) Sunday to Monday (4)
It worked.
Anyways I have never heard of puppies having their tails done after the 4th or 5th day. I would leave them as is. I have seen pleny of beautiful babies with their tails. I love the way mine look with them docked, but plenty of people like their cute little tails too!!!
