Default Is it OK to let my puppy cry at night in her crate?

Hi,
Last night was my 4 month old yorkie, Piper's first time in a crate...we got her about 3 weeks ago and I've decided to crate her at night.

She cried (very loudly) for about 25 mins in the room with me...so I put her in the spare room and she did the same thing for another 20 mins...then she stopped and I put her crate on the bed with me...is this oK to do?

Should I let her cry so she gets used to the crate? And how long should I let her cry for?

Our 2 year old male shorkie, Rocky, seems very concerned and wants to know why she is crying...what can I do about that?

For the first night (last night) Rocky and my fiance slept in a separate room...from Piper and I because she was so loud!

How will Rocky and Piper deal with different sleeping arrangements? Rocky always sleeps with us in the bed...

Thanks
