Yorkies are known for a "reverse sneeze", also called a goose honk. The scientific name escapes me. It sounds like the dog is either growling or dying, but it's usually fine.
It can be a sign of tracheal collapse, so you do want to keep an eye on it. If she doesn't seem sick or tired, and only makes this sound when she's excited, she's most likely fine. If it becomes constant, take her to the vet. Make sure the vet knows about the "reverse sneeze." My friend took her dog to four vets before it was disgnosed as harmless. |
