i am not sure. but i think that supervision is really important until you feel that you are very COMFORTABLE with leaving them unsupervised. everyone's comfort level is different. i personally always rather be on the safe side and be extra cautious. i never leave my animals together unattended if i don't feel that i am CERTAIN that they would be ok.
my vet has seen my bunnies and milu together and told me it's fine to leave them together unsupervised. but i still don't feel comfortable with it yet. so, i still only allowed supervised play.
