Years back I know a guy that bred his 12 year old chihuahua. It was her first litter. She got pregnant but had to have a c-section and the puppy died because he did not have a clue as to how to take care of it. It made me sick when I heard about it. I have heard of 15 year old bitches having puppies.
I also heard the other day about a 12 year old yorkie dieing from pymetra. I highly recommend that any bitch that is not being used for breeding be spayed. |
