That information, and the information I posted earlier about what the breeder of this dog had told AKC during the Nikko's Parti investigation in the late
1990's, I only learned of in the past 2 months from researching farther back into pedigrees and from a letter written by one of the parties involved in the investigation.
The one common dog that is seen in the Nikko line and many of the other "outcross" parti lines is Ch Wildweir Pomp N Circumstance. Now, if this dog was a parti carrier, and has passed on the parti gene for nearly 50 years through his offspring, why is it so hard to believe that the parti gene was not passed down to him by other carriers who lived 50-60 years prior to his birth? |
Hi Sue! Just wanted to say your posts are informative as usual. I for one hear what you are saying, and Im still stuck on if 2 of the dogs that originally created the yorkshire terrier are extinct, how can there even begin to be and argument on where this gene comes from? Maybe its been here all along? Kinda like how in my family we are American Indian (my kids father is also) as far back as we can track everyone has blackish brown hair and eyes so dark you can barely see our pupils. Yet I end up with Yellowish eyes, and my son comes to me with lighter hair and beautiful green eyes. Im going assume those genes were somewhere in our lines, but alllllllll my family on both sides has NO idea where. Happens
