I'm sure this is the case and because the term seems to stir things up, I say, "mixed breed". I'm not sure the word "mutt" started out this way though. A female dog is a bitch but so many people don't use the word anymore when referring to dogs. It is still used at dog shows though with all the love in the world...
There will always be endless debates about breeding for "designer dogs" and those threads may get heated but mixed Yorkies are welcome on YT just as purebred Yorkies are.
In fact, there are even YT members who don't have Yorkies at all.
