I hope you got some answers from the Morkie thread that I saw you posted on. Could be that you need to try a different detangler. Chipper has a cottony coat and I am always struggling with knots. I use a slicker brush, comb, and brush to deal with him. Also works on my Pommie. Good luck. ~Joanne~
