Default Discharge after Whelping

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could tell me about how long it is normal for a yorkie to have a discharge after whelping a litter. My female Tinkerbell has 4 week old puppies and she is still discharging. I have read and been told many differing opinions about this. With her last litter she had an on and off spotting for nearly 10 weeks after the birth. The vet did vaginal tests twice with negative results on infection. We put her on antibiotics as a safegaurd and 4 days before her scheduled spaying (the last resort to stop the bleeding) she stopped. Well her heats have been normal since and with the go ahead from the vet I bred her again. She had a very healthy delivery of 5 puppies, 1 of which I lost at 1 week due to cleft palate(very heartbreaking). I would just like some advice from some fellow breeders as to what is the norm for this. I surely don't want my baby to be at any risk healthwise and thus far she is the only female I have bred, my others are still too young. Sorry this post is so long, I can be somewhat of motor mouth tho put it mildly Thanks in advance for any advice you all can offer.
