Cesar actually did do a show on this. His solution was to drive the dog maybe 1/4 of a mile away, and then when he let her out she couldn't wait to get back to the house. Eventually she learned to walk AWAY from the house, not just towards it. Maybe you could try this for a while? |
awww- you are such a good volunteer
You see- today we went to the park- fun i thought- new smells- squirrels like crazy- nope she just wanted to go back to the car- But if i walk her far enough away she will walk because she wants to go back to the car- for SOME reason this only seems to be a problem when it is the two of us. A month ago we had a behaviourist with us at this park because Layla is very scared of big dogs or dogs with a lot of energy and when she was with us- Lay walked no problem. And sometimes we go further than just around the block- and it seems if you can get her far enough away she will forget about it or just thinks maybe we are eventually on the way home

I just feel like she hates it so much and i feel bad but you are right- if we get far enough away she does seem to have a good time! Kinda like me- i never want to go out- but once i'm there i have fun

hahah
