I have had a gateway, a dell, an HP and an iMac. My gateway was our very first computer that we got when my 15 yo dd was in Kindergarten. It was a gem. My second gateway was garbage. My first Dell-again a dinosaur now- has been a great computer but it is dying a slow death now. My mother has purchased a dell since mine and it was garbage. Our HP-garbage-it is several years old now though. I made the switch to a MAC about a year ago and while there was a bit of a learning curve at first (not much though) I love it! I know this isn't much help but I just thought I would throw my experience out there. It seems to me like quality has gone down drastically in the pc's I mentioned above. The quality in any product I have bought from Apple has been top notch. I am sure there is probably somebody whose experience is different though....maybe. I don't foresee me ever buying another windows machine--I am on the prowl for a new macbook though
