Just my opinion here, but I vote against docking. It does hurt the puppy, and I've seen it argued that it limits the dog's ability to communicate with other dogs, since dogs rely on their ears and tails to express themselves.

That being said, if you plan to show him, you will need a docked tail.

I inherited my guy, and he has a docked tail.
