I have heard the injection stings, but it is a killed virus. I havn't used it so I am not sure if it hurts or not. The up the nose vaccine is live modified and has given it to two of ours. Once in a pup, but it just got a slight case of the sniffles and one pup that we bought that gave her full blown case. None of our other dogs got it from her though because they were all vaccinated for it. Our dogs do still get it and will do so as we take them out in public a lot. Boarding places and shows require it.
